Skin Care for Men

When it comes to Men’s skin care, I find most men don’t even use skin care products to take care of their skin. However, after asking the men I know, it is not because they do not care about their skin. The top two reasons that I heard from men were they don’t know which skin care products to use and that they find shopping for skin care products overwhelming.

I can totally relate to the second one, as a woman, when it comes to shopping for any beauty product, including skin care, the choices are endless and it can take a lot of time to choose a product.

Skin CareSkin care for men is no different than skin care for women. Sure, there are skin product lines out there made ‘for men’ however, the ingredients are no different, it’s just the packaging made to make a man feel comfortable purchasing beauty products.

Now, most men wont go to a drugstore beauty counter and ask for help choosing skin care products. However, when it comes to taking care of your skin, man or woman, it is important that you know you your skin type so you can choose the appropriate skin care. So, if you are a man looking for men’s skin care and do not want to ask a beauty professional for help, ask a girl friend to help you. Perhaps your wife, girlfriend or even your mom can help you determine your skin type.

Once you know your skin type, this can help you narrow down which type of skin care products to search for. Age also comes into play, as you mature you want skin care that is going to help fight the signs of aging. Most skin care products will be labeled in which skin type they are meant for. Another good way to find a product before heading to the store is by searching on line for skin care products formulated for your skin type. Shopping online is also a great way to shop for mens facial skin care, you can find great deals on line as well as skin care reviews and brands that your local drug store may not carry.

Please keep in mind,  if you are just starting to use skin care products for the first time, your skin may act like it is not very happy with the new product. Break outs may occur however this is most likely due to the fact that your skin is getting a good cleaning for the first time! Be patient and give your new product a couple of weeks before deciding if it is working for you or not. How will you know? You just will, trust me. All you need to do is pay attention to your skin!
