Black Hair Care - Hair Care Products for African American Hair
African American hair needs special care and using the right hair care products can make a huge difference. Having a bi-racial child myself, I have learnt from experience that the hair care products I use on myself, no matter what brand, just wont cut it on her black hair.
I have also noticed that when using hair care products for black hair, there is an amazing difference in her hair. These hair care products are specially formulated for coarse, thick and curly/kinky ethnic hair types.
Ethnic hair needs extra moisturizing as it can lack natural oils and be extremely fragile. Products to consider include hydrating shampoos, leave in conditioners and hair oil treatments to help moisturize and nourish. Another common issue with African American hair is dry scalp and dandruff. A hair oil made for ethnic hair types can help soothe dry, itchy scalp and dandruff caused from scratching.
It is important to remember that hair care for curly hair types is not the same as caring for curly, ethnic hair types because of the different needs. Choose hair products for ethnic hair as these will contain the ingredients your hair type needs. Also remember when combing or brushing hair to use a wide tooth comb, a pick or natural bristle hair brush to prevent hair breakage.
