When I walked into Earthly Body’s booth at Cosmoprof this year, Kevin Wachs poured some Marrakesh Oil into the palm of my hand.

The fragrance was great but I was not a fan of the oily feel in my hand. He promised that by the time he finished showing us his products my hands would be dry. It turns out Kevin was right, and my hands felt completely dry within minutes, having absorbed the oil completely.

Although the demonstration made me really curious about the product, this is not the reason why I decided to add it to our product line. Marrakesh Oil is made of Argan Oil and Hemp Seed Oil. I liked the sound of that, so I did some research.

Argan oil comes from the kernels of the argan tree. This old tree belongs to the Argania species and adapted particularly well to the drought and difficult conditions of southwestern Morocco.

Production of argan oil is still done by traditional methods, in a lengthy process done by women cooperatives. The process involves drying argan kernels under the sun, and then cracking them open by hand using stones to reveal the precious seeds.

Seeds are roasted to produce the edible argan oil, which is even more resistant to oxidation than olive oil. Those seeds destined to produce oil for cosmetics are not roasted and pressed in their raw state.

Argan oil is exceptionally rich in tocopherols (Vitamin E), as well as other essential fatty acids which all contributes to its proven skin healing properties.

As if the argan oil itself was not a sufficient winning recipe, Earthly Body infused it with their signature hemp seed oil. Hemp seed oil is renown for its antimicrobial properties as well as boasting a 3:1 ratio of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids, matching the balance required by the human body.

The unique composition of Marrakesh Oil nourishes and moisturizes your hair and scalp. It also protects the hair from heat styling and creates incredible softness and shine. The oil is applied by hand to towel dried hair before heat styling, or without heat to create soft body or to soften curls.

All in all, I believe this is a great product and I’m happy to add it to our line of beauty supplies.
